The new fitness center at Beach Villas: Precor, Peloton and an early start

A vacation at Ko Olina doesn't have to mean taking a week off from training. Beach Villas has its own fitness center for guests staying in the villas. It reopened in October 2025 after the cardio and strength equipment was completely replaced. If you like to get a workout in before the lagoon gets busy, or after a day of snorkeling, this guide covers what you'll find.
What's new
The resort's management announced in October 2025 that the new equipment was installed, tested and ready for use. The cardio and strength machines were replaced with new Precor and Peloton equipment, and the free weights stayed. Here's the line-up as management described it to owners and rental partners:
- Precor treadmills with P84 touchscreen consoles. Tap Quick Start, or use the built-in TV while you run.
- Ellipticals with adjustable incline.
- Upright and recumbent bikes that pair with an Apple Watch or other Bluetooth devices.
- Peloton bikes. See the next section.
- A rower with fan resistance and a simple display of watts, distance and calories.
- A strength circuit of selectorized machines. The adjustment points are marked in yellow, so you can set up quickly and safely.
- A Smith machine with built-in safety stops.
- A dual adjustable pulley cable station (up to 200 lb per side) with several attachments. QR codes on it link to guided exercises.
- The full set of free weights.
Riding Peloton on vacation
If you ride Peloton at home, you can keep your streak going here. The bikes in the fitness center let you set up a free account with just an email address, with no credit card needed. You can pair Bluetooth headphones and use the music library, and the resistance knob works just like the one on your bike at home. Bring your headphones and your usual login, or set up a guest account in under a minute.
A tip from frequent visitors: ride early. Hawaiʻi is two to six hours behind the US mainland, depending on the time of year, so if you wake at dawn on your first few days, use it. A morning ride, a walk along the lagoon path, then breakfast on the lanai is hard to beat.
Hours
When the fitness center reopened in October 2025, it was open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. From February 16, 2026, the hours were extended on a trial basis to 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Trial hours can change, so check the current hours with the 24-hour front desk when you arrive.
Steam rooms and locker rooms
The fitness center has steam rooms and locker rooms, which are good after a workout or a long flight. Spend a few minutes in the steam room, rinse off, then head down to the lagoon pool or Honu Lagoon to cool down.
Using the equipment safely
The resort's guidance for guests is simple, and worth repeating:
- Always attach the safety clip on the treadmill. The red button is the emergency stop.
- Adjust seats, handles and pads before you add weight or resistance.
- Start light and focus on form, especially on machines you haven't used before.
- Don't drop weights or let stacks slam down.
- Put dumbbells, attachments and accessories back where they belong for the next person.
- Scan the QR codes on the machines for short form tutorials.
There is also a video orientation of the new equipment, and Precor publishes short tutorials for each machine in its online education library.
More ways to stay active at Ko Olina
The gym is only the start. Beach Villas sits on Honu Lagoon, the second of Ko Olina's four lagoons. A paved seaside path links all four, so it makes an easy early-morning run or walk with the ocean on one side. Many guests swim laps in the lagoon pool or do a slow snorkel along the lagoon's rock walls. Others book a round at the Ko Olina Golf Club, a few minutes from the villas.
Plan your stay
Every villa at Beach Villas has use of the shared amenities, including the fitness center, two pools, three spas, a kiddie pool, barbecues and the beach bar. See open dates for every villa, or check this week's specials for last-minute arrivals.
